True compassion is the ability to see what is beyond body and mind. Only then can you offer real help and uplift others - Amma

With the compassionate grace of our beloved AMMA, Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, our school started functioning with 1400 students last year and this year we are proud to announce that it has increased to 2340 students till class 8. The real value and the aim of education as visioned by AMMA is practiced and taught to children. We, in Amrita Vidyalayam, aim at the holistic growth of students. As we realize that gaining knowledge is not just studying, equal importance is given to extracurricular activities like sports, martial art, yoga, art & craft, music, dance, dramatics and Vedic chanting.

Teaching in today’s mixed-ability classroom is a challenge. The classroom is a dynamic environment, bringing together students from different backgrounds with various abilities and personalities. We implement the creative and innovative teaching strategies in order to meet students’ individual needs. Our teaching methods comprise of the principles and methods that are implemented to bring about the desired learning among the students. We at Amrita, provide a comprehensive learning and a robust framework for an all-round development of a student.

We are humble to place on record our initiatives, accolades and achievements. Let me briefly present the annual report for the year 2019-2020.

1. Assembly:

The Morning Assembly is an essential part of the school schedule. Amrita’s assembly has a thematic schedule which fosters the spirit of group activity, leadership and value building. Everyday a specialized format is followed to give ample opportunities to the children to express themselves through multifarious activities.

Every room is supported with a smart board and are always tailored to the topic to keep up the learning spirit of the children

A library is a temple of learning.
The school houses a Library that covers fiction and non-fiction in all genres. It has a large number of encyclopedias and sports related books. The goal of our school library is to ensure that all students of the school have equitable access to books and reading and to the information technology.

Moving on to the CURRICULUM…….

6. Smart Board Class Rooms:

In order to improve teacher effectiveness and productivity in class and to bring abstract and difficult curriculum concepts into life inside classrooms and make learning an enjoyable experience we provide smart classes to our children. The use of technology to impart education through ‘Extra marks’ is one of our highlights which is used regularly by teachers.

7. Laboratories:

At Amrita we have well equipped Science lab, Math lab and Computer lab to expose our students to project based learning. Through lab activities, we ensure that our children get the opportunity to carry out the experiments individually and retain the knowledge for a longer period of time

8. Assessments:

Assessments are very essential as they measure students’ achievement in order to maximize the students’ learning and to modify instruction according to the individual needs. We have three mid-term examinations to assess the students periodically. Half yearly and Annual examinations are also conducted to evaluate their summative performances.
